Merioneth, Wales is one of the smallest, least populous but strongest Welsh speaking of the old counties of Wales. This Merionethshire Timeline covers the period of the Welsh princes prior to the formation of the county in 1284 through to modern times.
Each entry consists of the date followed by the description of the event. Events which only have a known year part of the date preceed dates with a month and with a day part.
The author Peter G. Evans is a genealogist and computer scientist. A member of the Merioneth Historical and Record Society he has long held an interest in Welsh genealogy.
This timeline is one of many included with the family history computer program GenP found at http://www.genp.com.au on the Internet. There you will find listed the many references used to compile this timeline.
